The local branch in Bordeaux was founded in 2014. Its name is“Solidarité Désert Sud-Ouest”.
Its main goal is to develop activities in the South West of France to support access to drinking water for people in Africa, and to improve health and educational support. It seeks external funding and subsidies to strengthen”Les Puits du Désert”.
The following means are employed to achieve the aim of the association
- Contacting elected officials and their associations to estimate the funding opportunities for the association’s projects.
- Organizing events for publicity and funds raising.
- Sending grant applications files to all public organizations that may grant awarded associations working in the field of North-South development cooperation and particularly for access to water, education and health.
The local branch in Bordeaux has already raised funds provided by the city of Bordeaux and by the Urban Community of Bordeaux.
