Summer 2025: Major progress for our projects in Niger

During the summer of 2025, several projects made significant progress in the Agadez region.

Education

The construction of the Tekazemt school is moving forward. It will soon provide the children of this village with a safe and adapted learning environment. At the same time, the creation of school gardens is also advancing. These gardens will help improve students’ nutrition and raise awareness among young people about sustainable agriculture.

Access to water

In Intawagré, the drilling work continues with the installation of key infrastructures (pump, solar panels, water tower). This project will ensure lasting access to safe drinking water for families and herders in the area, with water points planned at the school, the health center, and the village center. A small revolution for this village in the middle of the desert!

Women’s empowerment and agriculture

The Attri cooperative is currently being rebuilt. Starting in October, training sessions for the first women trainers will be launched, allowing the first training sessions for young girls to begin in January.

What’s next?

Two events are being prepared to finance the many projects still awaiting funding: our participation in the Route des Légendes and an exceptional Bordeaux wine auction at the end of November. More information coming soon on our social media.

These concrete advances demonstrate the effectiveness of the partnership between Les Puits du Désert and the NGO Tidène, as well as the commitment of all our supporters. So, thank you all!
