In the village of Attri, at the edge of the desert, a new project is starting: the creation of a training center for young girls.

Led by the women of the Attri cooperative, this project has a clear objective: to transmit useful and concrete skills to other young women in the region.

The center will offer practical training in several areas, including sewing, crafts and leatherwork, as well as association management and entrepreneurship.

The practical training sessions will be led by the women themselves, under the supervision of a coordinator, and participants will come from Attri and neighboring villages. They will learn simple techniques that can be directly used in their daily lives and to create a business.

The project also plans to create a small boutique to sell the products made on site. Some of the creations will also be offered for sale abroad, through solidarity channels. The goal is to develop a sustainable economic activity that benefits women and the community, but it is also to place this center in a dynamic of cooperation between West African women, by creating exchanges of experiences, cross-training, and partnerships. South/South cooperation and exchange can only be profitable!

Let us therefore hope that this centre becomes a reference point for the region and inspires other similar projects in the area!
