Thanks to our partners, La Générale du Solaire and GDS International, we have transformed the human-powered well in Tchinwoudouban into a solar-powered well, complete with a water tower.
This transformation not only provides stored water to better meet demand and prevent disruptions in the supply of drinking water but also reduces the time and physical strain on women and girls tasked with fetching water. Additionally, two individuals received training to monitor the installations, and an emergency toolbox has been provided for minor repairs and maintenance of the equipment.
This project directly benefits 1,000 residents of the camp, as well as livestock and passing herders.
